It's definitely fall here.
The weather today (finally no rain) is cool and nice.
AND....."The damn bugs are GONE"....!!!!
The horses are finally getting some relief from the no bugs anymore season.
They have taken to rolling in the mud....which to say the least does not impress me at all.
Now, I'm getting ready for winter.
Have about 10 cords of fire wood ready for the fire place.

Like Liz, very fall like in Michigan.   High 50's low 60's and the sun is out and the cider mills are open and the leaves are changing.    LOVE.   IT.

Apple Cider has been out since mid-September, apple picking since the beginning of September. On a plus note (I guess) no frost yet, not cold enough at night, but the fog has been rolling in like crazy from the warm ground and cold air.

There is a farm stand right down the road from me that makes there own Cider to sell. They have a huge apple orchard and they make everything (food) that can be made with apples. The cider press is checked (before the season) and spot checked during the season almost every other day by the ATF for alcohol (the tailing's from the press are fermented by the machine and can be used to make hard cider.....totally illegal .......hence the ATF checking on them everyday to make sure of how they dispose of the tailings....Hint....it's NOT fed to the cows..!!! and yes cows can get drunk on apples.!!!).

I've seen plenty of drunk animals.    Bats flying around in the middle of the day clearly something wrong with them.   A rabbit that was jumping through our yard and falling over numreous times.   
A bird flying erratically and then flying into the side of my house.   Poor thing didn't make it.   

Cows though.   They'd have to consume a lot.

Thoughts and prayers with our east coast Florida members.     It looks like the eye of Hurricane Matthew is going to ride right up the coast from West Palm all the way up to Georgia and the Carolina's.

I just heard it was upgraded to a category 5.    This looks like it will be a bad one with a lot of destruction.

Jersey Shore is holding it's breath in the hopes that it turns towards the sea and doesn't get up here. I'm in land enough that water (rising tide) isn't the problem, but the winds are (way to many trees can and do come down).

59 degrees and crystal blue skies. Not a single cloud, but it is windy out (just nothing bad). All the leaves have pretty much changed and fallen so it's definitely an autumn day here. Winter can't be far behind.....
