We are getting part of the hurricane Newton, so it's rain rain rain and 69F at 8am.

Tucson Streets really don't handle rains well.  The streets are made with washes instead of a storm drain system, so while driving you have to worry about crossing temporary creeks and if they are too deep you could be in trouble.

At 2pm, it is now 74F, and humidity is now 89%.

I am enjoying a break from the endless heat, but in the next few days the mosquitoes will come out in droves.  :o

With all the rain and heat we have had up here this summer, I have to admit there was hardly any mosquito problem.

That's good.  I was reading that July was the hottest month on record.  It certainly was for the mid-west and east coast!  But I think it was a little cooler here.

Here we are in Minnesota...middle of September with cool nights and warm days.  Leaves are showing first tinge of changing to fall colors.

Meanwhile, I drove past the maintenance building at the airport (MSP).  There, lined up for service and prep work, were many of the machines used for SNOW removal.  It's coming!!!! :emot_weird:

Beautiful here......Never got above 70 degrees today.
Bright sun, clear skies, no clouds. Most importantly, very few bugs out today.
Horses loving it, and me too.
Nights are going down into the 50's so even that's not so bad. I'm keeping my windows opened all day and night (loving this weather).
The trees around the farm are starting to change colors, but not so much on the mountain (still pretty much green). Unfortunately, I had to buy a new rake for the leaves (when that happens)......but all is good.

Love,
Liz

Same here.  High in 60's today and tonight down in the 40's.  Can see the leaves turning up in the hills. Absolutely perfect weather  although I would not mind a couple more swim days before I close my pool for the year.

Sigh. It will be a sad day when Nicole puts here bikini away for the winter. In the 80s here, so will send it your way.  Whatever it takes to keep you in a bikini..... 8)

70 degrees here today, Rained this afternoon, made putting up hay a real crappy job.
Now that is 5PM the weather has turn really nice except for the humidity (all barn fans on for the night).
Monday.......calling for thunder showers all morning.
I may have to drive to JFK Airport to pick up a horse off of KLM.
(not sure yet).

Love,
Liz

Still uncomfortably warm in Dallas for the first day of Autumn... at least there's a break on the horizon.

update, a few days later: the storm is SLOWLY headed our way (lower right corner), currently blasting Wichita Falls and about to smack Okie Junction.  It stretches from northern Mexico all the way to Canada near International Falls.

The temp dropped about 10 degrees earlier when we had a tiny thunderstorm blow through Dallas

Cooling down in Tucson though.  90-80F this week, but dropping into the 60's at night.

Here as well. It's raining now, and it's supposed to continue, off and on, through Monday.

Yesterday, Sunday, was the first day it hadn't rained since last Thursday.  Finally, the stalled low is moving east and we might be able to see the sun again and enjoy some decent temperatures.

MintJulie - not too many days left of this year to put on your bikini and lounge about.... 8)

Up here, it is definitely fall. Overnight temperatures are close to freezing. Forecast high for today is 8C (46F). It's going to be an invigorating ride to work tomorrow morning.

That is all.
