It was FUCKING HOT in Tucson today.  We hit 100 F today.  At 10pm it is 80F outside.  It should cool off to the low 80s to high 70's by the weekend.

Well, damn.  TVNWeather has shut down and doesn't intend to restart the service.

That's live storm chasers, if you're not up with the rest of us here in the midwest.

Here's the quote from the site:
"After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to discontinue the TVNweather Live Storm chasing service.

When we launched the TVN live streaming platform 4 years ago, our mission was to grow a platform for storm chasers to share their severe weather reports and experiences in the field with weather enthusiasts, news media, emergency managers, and especially the people in the path of these dangerous storms. The platform has provided many storm chasers with the opportunity to share their chases with the world and we consider the overall experience a success. Many people and organizations have also come to rely on it for public safety and early warning and we know it will be missed.

Unfortunately, due to lack of resources, we can no longer provide the level of service everyone has grown to expect and as such we would rather simply shut the service down rather than provide a substandard viewing experience.

We are not seeking options or contributions to continue operating the Live Storm Chasing platform, but simply would like to thank our loyal supporters and especially our network of hard-working storm chasers for growing this incredible product over the last 4 years.
"

I just uninstalled the app.  Bye, TVNWeather.

Here's a couple of links for those of you (like ME!) that like to follow the crazy-ass chasers, since TVNWeather closed their doors.

The closest reasonable alternative to TVNWeather is iWeatherNet:
http://www.iweathernet.com/thunderstorms/watch-storm-chasers-live-real-time-storm-cams
I don't like the TERRAIN background they've chosen for the map; it's distracting.

Second best would be this one, since it doesn't have the storm tracks feature (mesocyclones) that iweathernet has:
http://severestudios.com/livechase/

Living in Tornado Alley, the mesocyclones are of EXTREME importance to me.  I need to know when to duck and cover, since I can't hear the freaking SIRENS in this part of town.  They're too far away to hear.

Looks like both sites are using the same set of feeds from the chasers.  The chasers are the little red and black thingies in the two maps above.  There's a couple of other live chaser services, but it looks like everyone that was on TVNWeather is now on both of these services.

It is currently cold (3 degrees C), windy and rainy. And the more rain we get, the better. I'm 5 hours or so south of the Fort McMurray wild fire and they need the wet in a bad way. Hopefully, they are getting the same kind of precipitation that we are here.

That is all.

Exact same weather here. I was thinking how weird that was, since I had Texas on my mind - and Liz knows what I mean - but then I remembered you're in New Jersey, and I'm not that far away.

It's 85 degrees here right now, it's been hot all day.
This is the first time that I have had to turn on the fans in the barn.
I spent the afternoon washing horses (they loved it, I didn't).
But it's suppose to get warmer tomorrow, then start cooling off.
(have to wait and see about that). But no rain scheduled for the next couple of days.

Liz
