Door Peninsula winery Mead. It is soooo sweet and goes down soooo easily. I have never had mead before, and I'm kicking myself for never having tried it before.

I've heard of mead before from shows and movies. But I never really new what it was, just thought it was beer in a different name. Its wine made from honey, and it is god damn delicious!!

Yes, this is my favorite Waterford double old fashioned glass that a certain child who will not be named broke.

I have absolutely nothing going on today, and decided I'll start with a bloody mary. Nothing big and filled with accoutrements, so no beef sticks or cheese, just a pickle and celery.

Now I'm sipping screwdrivers

Did I tell you guys I I got a percolator coffee pot?   Well, I got 2.  I returned them both.  One made too much noise keeping pot warm, the other burned the coffee.and was too tall.  I need a pot that is smallerish because of limited spot when we're in the RV, the drawer I keep it in is 9" tall and wouldn't fit. . I told my friend I liked the bolder taste.  She told me of her sister in laws love of a French Press.   I ordered one.

OMG.  I love it.  The best cup of coffee.

A little more work. A little, more prep time than my Keurig.  But so worth it.

That's what I'm enjoying right now.

My son gave me a Nespresso for my 60th. Best. Machine. Ever.

And they recycle the pods (or claim they do).

Just me and George in the morning.

I do love a French press, but I’m too lazy to go through that every day. I also have the nightmarish memory of my father‘s French press exploding and boiling water spilling all over his privates. I doubt that happens very much anymore, but it was pretty traumatic for a nine year old to witness.

Right now, water.  But Dan and I met a couple for an early dinner.  Like 3:00, and it was us 4 and a bunch of retirees for the early bird specials.  And they had drink specials too.  We were home by 6:00 and I didn't get a chance to enjoy my infinity bottle this past weekend.  I was able to enjoy some of the best bourbon ever produced this evening.  So so good.  I put it away for next month.

Jack Daniel’s Tweaks Its Brand, From Bland to Exclusive

The Tennessee whiskey, long snubbed by connoisseurs and collectors, is suddenly grabbing attention with a series of special releases.

Ii had a bottle of their single barrel barrel proof. Mine was 128 proof. Looking for another bottle now. They released it as a standard release at proof of between 125-145. I want a bottle of the 145. Hazmat!

147 is Hazmat.  I've never personally seen a bottle that high.  I have a Blantons SFTB at 132.

I once had a blind little taste test with some of Dan's friends that drink bourbon .  One was one of those guys that thought he was better than everyone else and smarter, etc.   the first pour was my 132.  Knocked Mr Smarty Pants off the stool.  He recovered from his coughing fit a minute later.

If you know it's coming in hot, you can be ready for it.  But I didn't tell him.

I don't have JD very often.  I guess I'm snubbing it, but only because all I ever see on the shelf is the Number 7.    Will keep my eyes open.   May be at Total Wine today in fact.

Scotch, for the folks on the other side of the pond?

I have 4 bottles that have been sitting on the bar.  I need to open one.  Left to me from my brother in law.
I don't know if I've ever had scotch.

Wheat juice. I used to drink scotch in the winter and gin in the summer. Now I drink bourbon year round.

I don't know if I've ever had scotch.

The first alcohol to pass my lips.was Scotch. I was on a 707 (first time on a jet plane) in uniform after finishing basic training
I was on my way to more training in South Carolina. The stewardess asked me if I wanted a drink.

Ok legal drinking age was 21, I'd just turned 20 but nothing was said about an ID. I had no clue what to say. All I could remember from watching TV, was Scotch on the rocks. So that's what I ordered. It was awful but I sipped at it until it was gone. Later rum and coke became my.drink of choice.
