Myrtle Beach is in South Carolina, but it’s often full of people from North Carolina because driving south to get to the beach is much closer.

"Well" glasses push "Actually," they go to Mertyl, because of certain laws.  The same reason why South of the Border is south of the (Intercarolina) border.  Because you can get away with some stuff down there, that you can't in NC.  As long as you don't mind paying for drinks poured out of airline bottles.

I'm not going into too much detail on the Carolinian laws.  Suffice it to say, they're weird, even for the south.

I'll add Zeigen Boch, and Shiner Boch to the list of good Texas beers, for those of us who like darker brews.  (Like me.  Nothing against Just Gold, I just like dark beers.)

That's just what I have at the moment.  Try a Black Quad Quadruple by Real Ale.  Very sturdy and 10.5 % ABV.  Or Commissar, a Russian stout.  9.8% ABV.

No, but if you know one with a flexible concept of gender in the area, go ahead, and send them over.

If they're not stout, but as psycho as this:

That'll work, too.

I have a mother-in-Law, an auntie, and a babushka, who all keep me возбуждена as hell.  I’m a very attentive son who pats, strokes, and kisses in the kitchen and other close quarters.  We all love these little games.  It makes New Years celebrations very enjoyable.

brandy alexanders, because  it's hot, and I need a cool drink, and I have a bottle of Hennesy's so old the cork disintegrated, so I need to waste it, and I crave nutmeg. Not a bad drink, when you're over-heated, and you need nutmeg.

Brandy Alexander Recipe

Herschel, you got me craving a good BA.  Mine are twice as strong as what a bartender would serve.

I agree. I killed the Hennesy, but still had the creme de cacao, so I mixed a few more, substituting Bulleit for the cognac, and not measuring, just pouring so it looked right, and things started getting better. The alcohol is important, but the key is getting the nutmeg right. Also, lots of ice in the shaker.

Totally off subject, but that made me think of my father.  He did a lot of wood projects.... Tree house for my sister and I, and many other things.    His saying was measure twice, cut once.   I don't really measure my drinks, but I measure my guests drinks.  First time someone tries something, one finger.  If they like it, two fingers.   #DontWasteMyBrown

So, super huge surprise.  I've been having trouble finding Blanton's.   Dan (who is on Facebook, I'm not) went to a facebook page that raffles off bottles.  His winnings, which he didn't tell me about, were delivered yesterday.  I got home and there was a box on the porch.   It had his name on it.   I set it on the kitchen island.   He got home and said, "It's a surprise gift for you, open it."  I opened it.  8 little horsies staring up at me.

Yeah, that's the carpenter's Motto.  I've also heard "Can't cut it any longer."

I use that line weekly.  People are always in a hurry.  My son finished his Eagle Scout project this summer, and I almost went daft.  “Come on guys.  Line it up.  Use your Speed Square.  Measure twice, cut once.”  Despite best efforts we had to do a few things twice, but fortunately it’s all finished now.  15 years with Scouting, and finally will have an Eagle in the family.

Use your Speed Square.

I hated the roofing square, mostly because I know what that means.  Compound bevels suck.  At least crown molding is almost always the same angles, you can memorize that.

On a similar note, my neice (Who's in college getting a Mechanical Engineering degree) wanted my help desiging a dollhouse, or 2.  She worked it up in CAD, but originally she wanted a hexagonal barrel shape for the porcelain babydoll.  I talked her down to octagonal, because designing it in CAD is 1 thing.  Ripping it out of dowels (Rip cut down the length of it) with 60, and 30 degree angles is a whole 'nother, if you don't happen to have a miniature miter saw, or a jig that can hold a round dowel rod while you cut it into pie wedges, lengthwise, precisely.  8 sides is a couple more panels, and ribs, but it's a hell of a lot easier to cut out of dowel rods, or square splits.
