So just to bum you out some more. Right now I’m drinking a 2oz of Whistle pig Piggyback 6 year to give it a try
My stock right now is 6 bottles with two open.
- Eagle Rare 10 year (open and about half gone. Savoring that baby)
- Larceny (about half gone)
- Redneck Riviera
- Buffalo Trace
— Russels Reserve 10 year
- Jim Beam Single Barrel 108 proof

I just finished a pint of Rebel Yell over the weekend. The only reason I got that was because it was the OG Yell bottle. Felt I was getting an aged bottle since they discontinued the Yell in 2020.
Next will probably be an Elijah Craig barrel proof. Wife’s taking me to a local distiller tour for my birthday in May. I’ll be getting a 5th of their wheated bourbon then also. ( Detroit Distillery)

I've been to Detroit Distillery three times.  When I get home 🏡 ll have to tell you what I have.  It was a 3-pack of something.

Eagle Rare is a fave.  All the BT bourbons are good.

My newest favorite that I had for the first time about 5 weeks ago is Russel Reserve 10 year. It's 90 proof I think, so a little weak for me, but Dan loves it.  . I will have to track down some 108.

Larceny is good.  Been a while since I've enjoyed.

In PM I'll send you a great spot to shop for some good ones.

I love that you're a bourbon guy now.

I found a good store just across the street from me that doesn’t do markups. Not a lot of super high end stuff but they are willing to order stuff for me at MSRP so that’s a plus.
I got a bottle of Jack single barrel barrel proof for Christmas. 128 proof. Now that was some good stuff.

Eagle Rare.  AND, I found a bottle today at State min.

That makes 10 bottles purchased in 6 days.   I need to either stop buying, or start drinking faster.  Decisions, decisions

Heineken 0.0. My local liquor store cashier asked me if something was wrong. I said, “Yes, they told me booze was causing my grand mal seizures.” “Bummer dude.”  Yes. Bummer indeed.

There are quite a few drinkable zero alcohol beers out there.  I don’t drink a lot of beer (too gassy) but there are times only a beer will hit the spot.  Zero alcohol is a good option if you have to drive,

If you aren’t getting behind the wheel  and you like a single malt, I can recommend Aultmore.  Nice and mellow, goes down a treat!

Just picked up a bottle of Tin Cup. Went to Total Wine and had a coupon for $10 off two bottles. Was already picking up one for a gift so….

As for non-alcohol beer. My son really likes Brewdog. They have about 4 different types and can sometimes find them in a mix 12 pack. The big brand around me now is Two Roots. Another one that has 3 different types. Sell in 6 packs.

I downloaded the app when they opened near us and joined. Monthly deals are in the app that you can activate. Then they show up when you cash out. I don’t get many emails from them but I’m on the app a lot checking out the deals. All I do is put my phone number in at the register. You also get points for everything you buy. The more points the more things you get. I’m shooting for 5000 points to get invited to member only tastings and stuff like that.

I drank a Heineken 0.0 in solidarity with a pregnant friend, and it was very tasty.

So how was the bitters as a starter? Just sounds so wrong to me.

I forgot.  BUT, I just put a dab on my fingertip.   Results:   F! NO! I'm not doing a shot of bitters.

Thought you might change your mind. I’m all for trying mixed drinks but I mostly find that I’d rather sip or just a straight up 3 to 1 mix of ginger ale and bourbon/whiskey. The 4oz + to 12 oz mix. Depends on the proof. Once I’m into the 120’s I don’t mix as heavy

After I tasted the bitters, I had the brilliant idea of asking Dan to make me a Bloody Mary.

ZING ZANG is the best mix.   Found it at Target last November.  I'm sure it is elsewhere, but it is the best mix.

When looking for the vodka, Dan found some Irish Cream.   So, maybe an Irish coffee tonight.

My “it’s complicated” gave me a bottle of Bailey’s for St. Paddy’s day. I am pretty sure she regifted it. When I told her “no booze please,” she insisted it was only for coffee. Of course I opened the bottle that night, and drank the whole thing. LOL.
