Saw "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" the 2ND film for Captain America and the 3rd film in Marvel's Phase 2 films before next year's "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Captain Steve Rogers aka Captain America (Chris Evans) is back, living in Washington, D.C. and working for S.H.I.E.L.D., he's partnered with Natasha Romanoff aka The Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) who go out on missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. They are sent to a ship to break up a hostage situation, but during the battle with the Pirates who have taken the ship, Steve Rogers learns Natasha was downloading vital secret information on the ship's computer without being let in on it by her or Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). Rogers confronts Fury who tells him that SHIELD has a new plan, "Project Insight", to keep "in line" potential problem people around the world by creating new state of the art Helicarriers with enough firepower and high tech to take out potential threats, which offends Rogers stating that the punishment should come after they are found guilty for their crime(s). Fury tells Rogers that they must do what is necessary to keep them in line, Rogers tells Fury that he is wrong and that S.H.I.E.L.D. along with the Government is spreading fear. Later, Nick Fury is attacked on the road by an unknown figure who has a bionic left arm which is discovered to be a "Ghost Assassin" known as The Winter Soldier and Captain America will do all he can to stop The Winter Soldier and find out what is really going on behind S.H.I.E.L.D.'s closed doors when Rogers refuses to tell senior S.H.I.E.L.D. official Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford) what Fury told him the night he was attacked by the Winter Soldier.
I really liked the new Captain America, not only is it a great Comic Book film, but also plays out like a Political Spy Thriller, like a Tom Clancy movie/novel but set in the Marvel Universe, but more intense which will leave you on the edge of your seat. The plot reveals were VERY shocking indeed was not expecting what I found out about S.H.I.E.L.D.! Also stay for the movie's credits for two reasons: One scene that will lead into Avengers: Age of Ultron (shown in the credits) and a scene that closes the film at the very end of the credits. Film also stars, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka Falcon, Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter aka Agent 13 and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter.
