I agree. I like Chris Evans, I have ever since Not Another Teen Movie, but should he be playing Cappy? Nope. Who would I prefer to play Steve Rogers?

Well, Rogers is from the 1940's, so I'd look for an actor who could pull off convincingly the psycho-socio ethos of that era. Actors I would have preferred: Chris Pine (though he is probably tied up with ST2), Jamie Bamber, Charlie Cox, or Henry Cavill.

Caution: rant mode, go!

A small note on the Hurt Locker....

Fuck that movie. I don't see how it won any major oscars at all. I thought the movie was mediocre at-fucking-best. I was pretty much pissed off the entire time I was watching it, because it was so contrived, unrealistic, predictable, and it employed cheap, gimmicky tricks in the writing.

I think the only reason it got any attention at all is because most people didn't know what EOD was, so it was something new to them, and Hollywood wanted to make a patriotic gesture. In real life, EOD commanders don't act like suicidal fucks and say, "I'm too fucking cool to use the bomb-defusing robot, I'm gonna put the fuckin' bomb-suit on and defuse all that shit by hand, because I'm a fuckin' moron, derp de derp!" They sure as fuck don't unnecessarily, wrecklessly endanger their squad mates and civillians, and if they did, they'd be bounced out of the fucking army, or fragged by squadmates, that same day. And they also have this odd little habit of following orders, which again, if you didn't do, your ass would be fucking court-martialed; you wouldn't be getting your dick sucked by some random colonel for being a "wild man".

Fuck that fucking piece of shit movie. Giving this oscars is like saying Top Gun was oscar-worthy. "You can defuse my bomb anyday, Maverick!" That's what this movie reminded me of, Top Gun. Fucking terrible.

From what I've heard, soldiers were pretty disgusted with this movie, and rightly so I believe. Check out this review by an actual marine: http://www.dontevercallmeahero.com/2010/02/26/a-critical-review-of-the-hurt-locker/

Iron Man 2 was awesome! Saw it twice and I still enjoyed it! I don't care if Entertainment Weekly gave it a C+, the movie was bad ass! Can't wait to see Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger next Summer! Saw also the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, it was ok,but I liked the 1984 version better! Next I might be seeing Twilight: Eclipse. I got a thing for Alice!

This is what a movie review looks like (Just in case anyone wants to do one for a film they have just seen.)
THE DEVIL REJECTS
Let me start off by saying I was very, very disappointed with "House of 1000 Corpses". It was overly-fast-paced to the point where it seemed like the only people who could enjoy it were those with ADD. It was also suffering from a lack of gore and carnage, something rather surprising from the horror aficionado that Mr. Zombie is. On top of that, it was a complete rip-off of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974), which is a much better film anyway. All Zombie did differently was add neon lights.

So, my expectations for "The Devil's Rejects" really weren't very high. But I began hearing reviews from people who saw the film before it was released saying that it was very different and much better than "House". And then I saw the previews, which looked promising. So, my expectations went up just a little. However, I was still pretty weary. I just wasn't sure if I could trust Zombie. But I went into the theater with an open mind. The lights dimmed. And what I saw was the glorious return of the true horror film. Rob Zombie more than redeemed himself with this brutal, funny, and utterly spectacular film. He worked out all the pacing kinks of "House", took away the flashy neon-light look, and replaced them with a gritty, violent masterpiece of terror.

"The Devil's Rejects" follows the three surviving members of the psychotic murderer family from "House of 1000 Corpses", who have been given the nickname "The Devil's Rejects" by the locals. They're on the run from the police, and along the way, they just happen to engage in murder, blasphemy, and sexual abuse. The exploitation fan inside of me rejoiced. In a twisted away, I loved everything I was seeing. And on top of all of this, Rob Zombie managed to put together just about the best mix of snappy dialogue and music I've witnessed since "Pulp Fiction". He even made me dig "Freebird", and I REALLY dislike Lynyrd Skynyrd.

This has been a truly wonderful summer for horror fans. First, the French terror masterpiece, "High Tension", then George A. Romero's excellent return to form, "Land of the Dead", and now, Rob Zombie's truly glorious coming-into-his-own-as-a-filmmaker, "The Devil's Rejects". Let's just hope Lion's Gate has the balls to give him another film.

9/10
PS This isn't my review, I lifted it off www.imdb.com.

So what's the movie you saw last?  Could be great or could be a stinker, let others know!

Last night I watched a crazy documentary called Dr. Bronner's Magic Soapbox.  It was a documentary all about Dr. Bronner and his amazing soap.  I've used his soap for a few years now and I can't imagine going back to using any other type of soap, but I knew nothing of Dr. Bronner or his family or history.  It was a fascinating story of a man who decided that he was going to 'unite spaceship earth.'

If you don't know anything about Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap you don't know what you're missing.

If you are a fan of documentaries, it's definitely worth a watch.

Last movie i saw... Blood Works with Clint Eastwood from 'O2. I've only seen it edited on tv and was disappointed that they changed who the killer was. I'd read the book first and it was great. Spoiler alert: Terry McCaleb is in his 4Os to Clint's 72 in the movie.

I don't watch that much either, and now that True Blood is over for the season, will be even less.  But this will be the third time I have watched The Killer Inside Me.  It is a dark, disturbing, fascinating film.  It gave me a new respect for the acting abiiities of Casey Affleck...he did a superb job!
