The link was active in your browser Janus, because you had the original image in your cache folder.  Those looking at the link for the first time, did not have the image to pull up, and the html image code used did not work for their browsers.  I'm sure our IT guys can explain it, with some insider jargon, better than I..

Exactly.  EPL.  That is football.  Not "American style" football, which is something completely different.  Bunch of millionaires, selling advertising and merchandise for their billionaire owners.

But "bunch of millionaires, selling advertising and merchandise for their billionaire owners" applies as much, and perhaps even more so, to the EPL.

For example, EPL jerseys contain neither the team name nor the home city. The most prominent thing on virtually all of them is the name of a multi-billion-dollar multinational corporation.

I agree and why I said it's in EPL also. For some reason, and maybe because soccer is not as mainstream here in the USA as it is EVERYWHERE else in the world, it does not feel as slimy as football here.

Our posts were simultaneous, so I didn't see yours before I posted mine.

I find it frustrating as someone who's new to the sport. If you turn on a game in the evening on Fox Soccer or Fox Soccer Plus, there's no way to tell the team name by the jerseys.

And I don't know about "slimy," but the adverts in soccer are far more aggressive and omnipresent than in any of the major American sports. They're on the jerseys, on the walls surrounding the pitch, projected holographically around the pitch, etc.

Granted, soccer has one major disadvantage over the major American sports: there's no stoppage of play during the halves, so there's no time for commercials. I suppose they have to make their money somehow or other.

P.S. Yes, I was showing off using words like "advert" and "pitch"...

Just hit me up prior to games and I can give you a good idea of colors for the game. One nice thing that Fox does a lot is that the score in the corner, the team names will be colored to the jersey color also. It helps when turning on the game after it is already playing.
