When I was a kid we always had music going, my mother listened to a little of everything and I have 3 older siblings, 12 to 8 years older than me...so I was fortunate in that I was exposed to a wide variety of artists.  The Doors, Jim, in particular really rocked my middle school girl heart, was in love with his hair and lips,lol, and his whole dark moody vibe. Anyways, in my humble opinion, they have never gotten the recognition they deserve for the great music they put out.

I agree, TinyDancer, The Doors were ahead of their time and their music stood out at that time period. The Doors and Jimi Hendrix are really the only musicians from that era i'm into. Jim passed too soon and we'll never know what else he may have accomplished with or without The Doors.

Eric....I can't thank you enough for this video, is one their best songs and Jim, well, he always done it for me.  I sometimes watch my niece, she will be 3 in March and is just starting to phrase her words.  The other day she was sitting on my kitchen floor playing with measuring spoons and plastic containers, singing, "roll baby roll."  Never to young to learn good music.  Thanks babe....made my Friday even better.

Yeah, Ian Astbury. He's a pretty good singer. The Doors aren't as underrated as you think. They've gotten accolades over the decades, and had several movies made about them, including the 1991 movie with Val Kilmer.

Yeah, really psychedelic, i love it. I have two of their albums on CD, a Greatest Hits and a double disc Best Of. I love "Waiting For The Sun" and "Five To One", too
