My church growing up placed a lot of restrictions on how we could interface with society. First of all, no going to movies to see any kind of movie, and they would all be rated PG today. Reason: Because of what went on in the dark. They never told us what that was. Also, we couldn't participate in dance lessons in school. We had to bring a note from our pastor saying it was against our religion. Because people danced in some bars. Now we can do all those things. Including R rated movies with actual sex. what changed? The rules. Why did the rules change? Because they were stupid rules and the men that made them up died off. Younger men that wanted to do those things succeeded them. BTW, I took dancing lessons in high school and never told them. Remember, religion and church Bylaws were made by men, not God. (Dancing in church was allowed and it got pretty intense sometimes.)
