They hailed the  military-style rifle as an “everyday gun for everyday citizens” in a tweet that shocked many on Saturday.

2nd Amendment:  Government shall not infringe.   Forfeiting your liberty to government is a slippery slope that will kill more Americans than all domestic deaths by firearms in the past 100 years.  After giving government control of the Second Amendment, government will come after you for the First Amendment.  Currently, government violates everyone's 4th Amendment everyday.  They keep a copy of every text, email, post on social media, phone call and tract your moments via mobile phone.  There are people in solitary confinement for trespassing for Jan 6, government is sending the message Don't Fuck with us.  Government closed churches, arrested people and some went to jail as government closed churches due to Covid.  Big box stores and casinos were open, but not churches.   Government violates ever right we have all the time, Americans do nothing, most are not paying attention.   We no longer live in a FREE Nation.  Be careful supporting government control of the 2nd Amendment  because some get killed, government kills more.  If you don’t realize this, you don't know history.

The lethal firearm — a favorite weapon of mass shooters in the U.S. — was also deemed a “modern-day musket” by the  gun lobby:

The AR-15 is the modern day musket.
An everyday gun for everyday citizens.

What world is the executives of the NRA living in?

This is why I love America!
The Gun-culture there is exhilarating.
Why bother with blades, when you can fire lead!
(Note everything was said in room 1408 therefore, needn’t be taken seriously.)

The original used during vietnam was full automatic, but they found it wasted ammunition so the made the adjustment eliminating it and made it 3 round burst.  If you squeezed the trigger fast enough it might as well be full automatic though.
When I was issued an M-16 in Vietnam in 67 it had a selector for automatic.  But those weapons with an automatic selector were rare.

The AR-15 is a very expensive weapon.  Hardly a gun for everyday citizens.  A shotgun would be better for the defense of your home.

There is much truth to this. I grew up in a small town, but have lived in big cities as an adult. On two separate occasions, would be burglars fumbling with my front door were deterred by the sound of my 12 gauge racking a round. You should see them run when they hear that sound. They set new land speed records.

down here it's pretty rare to have house burglaries.  Even in a higher suburb, everyone has one or two.  I have seven and I never shoot.  A15s I think come stock in every new home sold.
