This really gives you a moment to pause. If iPhone can scan the content of your iCloud, I think you have to assume they can scan your phone also. And they state that they will be reporting violators to local law enforcement. There’s all the assurances that “this is not a backdoor“ but that’s exactly what it is. It is a back door. They say that this will be included in iOS 15 this fall, but I think you have to assume that it’s already there. So just be careful about what you do, where you go, what are you look at, and what ends up on your phone. I’ve never turned on my iCloud on for privacy concerns. But I think I see an Android in my future. Not that Android will be any better.

My point is that we have a lot of underage material on this website. And if you’re surfing UA stories, I think you have to think that somewhere there is a database being created. I know that I have done some web searches looking for stories on ASSTR while moderating, and have gotten a Google warning that “pedo is bad”. So I wonder if every time that happened I had my IP address being put down as something problematic. And you remember that old movie Minority Report. I just think that if you get enough pings, you got may find yourself on the receiving end of some unwanted attention. Wondering if it wouldn’t be better to just use a throwaway for porn, and keep my regular phone clean and pure, just like Mary the mother God. Capital G. Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean everyone is not out to get me.

I think about that often.  I’ve written UA and posted it.  I tell myself there’s plenty of UA in popular fiction, even best sellers.  But those authors have a better claim that it’s a small part of a bigger story not the whole point of the story (all the while fully intending those scenes to be titillating).  If they want to make fantasies involving sexually mature characters a crime, then come and get me.  I’ve never committed a sexual crime of any kind with any real human being, I can truthfully say that.

That said, I can still see my presence here being framed as ‘he frequented a known pedophile site.’

I've never been able to understand why anybody would pay an exorbitant price for an iPhone when they can buy a phone every bit as good such as a Samsung or Nokia at a fraction of the price. All Apple products are a rip-off and I have better things to spend my money on than waste it on their iPhones or PC's.

It’s all part of the government’s ongoing efforts to label anything they don’t like as ”child abuse.” There’s still legislation pending to call pornography “child abuse imagery.” Because, who can be in favor of child abuse?  It also makes criminal prosecution easier because they’ve chosen the most prejudicial descriptive terms imaginable, and the defendant is guilty until proven innocent.

And that’s a whole ‘nother issue. I have represented a half dozen kids who have gotten in trouble at school. One student shared nude pics of another with his friends. And then all of them were threatened with expulsion and criminal charges for possessing child pornography. A child possessing nude selfies is just as “guilty.” It’s crazy that common sense is no longer used in these matters. Because they’re politically useful, so you have real child pornographers (Matt Gaetz) legislating criminality, where criminality was never required.
