Since so much of this board has gotten rife with confrontation, I thought I'd toss out and illustrate another recent confrontation.

Yep, our girl spotted a baby bunny and kept her eyes on it.  Angel is a "catch and release" cat.  She's caught a few smaller critters, but always brings them into the house unharmed and offers them to us. This bunny finally hopped away into some brush and the confrontation ended. (No trolls involved)

Her gifts show how much she appreciates our care for her.

We had cats my whole life, but we got a rabbit once.  Aubergine, since he was black, and looked like an Eggplant.  The cats tried jumping him (Yes, a boy bunny named "Aubrey") once.  Then, they learned about rabbit kicks.

They might smell like prey, and even run, but bunnies can fight back!

I lived on the 7th floor in a high rise apartment building for a time 20 years ago.  A squirrel would climb the building and torment my cat Spike from the balcony a few times a day and every day.  Spike would sit there tail twitching and making little noises staring at his tormentor through the impenetrable glass door.

Meanwhile, I would sing, ‘Spikey’s got a squirrelfriend, Spikey’s got a squirrelfriend‘, over and over.

Great photo, msslave. I am guessing because your cat is well fed by you that it sees rabbits, mice, etc as just play things and not potential dinner.

Ever since the loss of our dog a year ago, rabbits, squirrels and other varmints have been having a field day in our back yard.

Looks like the bottom bunny is an electrified dummy... how shocking!  :o

edit: Nope, I'm wrong.  I see it blink.

My mom's 23lb monster cat wasn't the 'catch and release' type, it caught things and ate them, as far as we could tell.  It would bring the heads home and leave them on the welcome mat at the kitchen door for my mom.  Mom always had to watch her step when going out for the morning paper.  :D  One time it left the head of a gigantic western diamondback rattlesnake on the doorstep.  Mom checked the cat all over for bites, and apparently the cat was much faster than the rattler was.
