British ambassadors are almost exclusively trained, time-served civil servants, not politicians.  That way, there is a longer-term consistency in relations with other countries.

Well, this one's a fairly typical (Meaning Arayan) female reporter for Fox News playing diplomat, but that's no reason why she wouldn't be any good at it.  Being a Professional Politician is no immunity to corruption or abuse of power.

However, it's fairly obvious that she was chosen to represent White America because she has a long career of buttering up, and flattering El Presedente' on local (New York) and national news.

In Briton, they also have a pretty good record on balanced un-biased news reporting too.  I've been a big fan of the BBC for decades.  If you want to cut through the shit of what's being said her about what's going on on Capitol Hill, World News Tonight is a pretty good fly on the wall.  Always has been.
