Yea, I've also seen people talk about this within the last two weeks.

Apparently the server in-charge of uploading and updating the site keeps overheating and crashing and they are in the process of moving to a new server.

Currently everyone I've seen that mentioned a date said that they were hoping to have everything up and running by Sept 1st.

Well things are looking up! There is now a new page format for asstr.org/files/authors and it looks like 'Very Well Aged' posted some sample text there the day before yesterday, so I'm assuming they've made progress and got things stabilized with the server. Let's see what happens over the next couple days. You other authors might want to give it a try and see what happens. There's no official announcement on ASSTR's main page yet, but hopefully that will be coming soon! ;D

So I shouldn't read anything into the fact that the address 'asstr.org' no longer works. As of 10 minutes ago.

 You are correct. Had to fully qualify the address. Good. Scared myself. Too many  unfinished stories out there.

What I have learned.

Thanks for reaching out to me. According to the admins, ASSTR suffered a server crash a few months ago and the site was offline or limping until the past week. They have restored the content, so my personal site (and, as far as I know, other authors' sites) was returned to normal for readers.

However, they have not yet restored authors' ability to edit their sites or add/edit stories, so I have no way to leave a message for anyone who goes to my ASSTR site at this time, unfortunately. Hopefully they'll get things sorted out soon.

Its still limping along, a lot of authors sections are still broken.

But there are changes, so maybe we just need to give it more time.
