America, Get Ready for the Comey Show

"Former FBI director James Comey is scheduled to testify before a public Senate hearing next week, where he will reportedly speak about President Trump’s attempts to end the Russia investigation. How damning do you expect his testimony to be?
Donald Trump may be ignorant about virtually every topic that reaches the desk of an American president, but there is one area of expertise where even his foes concede his mastery: show business. It’s a measure of how fast even that skill set is eroding under pressure that he doesn’t recognize he’s now starring in a gripping espionage thriller he cannot control. Comey’s testimony, besides being quite damning, will step up the narrative pace. He is a seasoned, unflappable performer before Congressional panels. He has a story to tell featuring Russian spymasters and moles, not to mention possible obstruction of justice in the Oval Office. Americans love the Bourne movies. They love House of Cards. They love 007. Should the White House try to thwart Comey’s appearance with bogus claims of Executive Privilege, that will only add to the intrigue and suspense.

As I wrote at the time, Comey’s firing may possibly have marked the beginning of the end of the Trump administration. That prospect has only increased since. Trump’s dwindling and bickering White House coterie hoped his trip abroad would change the subject from Russian collusion — a false high that was sustained for nine days by the president’s ostensible new “discipline” in reading from TelePrompters and abstaining from Twitter. Once he was back home, that bubble burst faster than you can say “covfefe.”"

Trump resigns.  He is then pardoned by Pence.  Democrats win in 2020.

Then all the damage done by Trump/Pence will start to be undone.

Oh and Bannon, seeing power slip from his fingers will do something incredibly stupid.  He will end up in jail.

Mr. Comey has shown himself to be self serving, and a snake in the grass, and I expect his statements to be the same.

ALL of Mr. Comey's notes, to include his notes following conversations with ex-Attorney General Lynch, ex-Acting Attorney General whats her name, and every conversation note he ever made during the Obama Administration must be made public, if any of his notes are to be made public at this time.

Some people are like the 'slinky'. Not really good for much,
but they bring a smile to your face as they fall down stairs.

What a disgusting spectacle is politics in general, and American politics in particular. It's dog eat dog all the way to the core.

We're in pretty dismal shape politically alright. It's not one in ten issues that goes the way the majority wishes.

Something is indeed rotten in Denmark.

The exact same thing can be said about Trump.
And those comments pre-date his entrance into politics by decades.

Trump has the character of a snake-oil salesman, and the ethics of one. And this can be gleaned by simple observation of his actions of many decades, all of which are for public viewing.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Saying "the senator's time has expired" after McCain spoke was the most accurate statement of the entire #ComeyHearing.

John McCain was a little incoherent, to say the least.

Yeah. Kinda sad, really. If you are going to fall apart and start babbling in your oatmeal, you could pick a better time than a hearing which half of the nation was certain to watch.

All in all, McCain has been a powerful and effective voice in American politics. It will be sad it he's most remembered by his performance today.

Something Northwest and I can finally agree on, except his having "been a powerful and effective voice in American politics."
He's known for taking safe positions towards the middle ground he could wriggle his way out of.
His demise began when he ran for President and  had no solid platform to run on and thought he had Republican backing for his "warrior" reputation. While anyone can sympathize for his ordeal, he was anything but a warrior.
He was merely a follower trying to take advantage of the reputation.
He became more of a Democrat when he lost the nomination, and if Hillarious had won the election would probably switched parties to stay on the winning side.

Wasn't McCain involved in the S&L scandal as one of the Keating 5?

And he proved his brains had turned to mush when he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate.
