What is Fame?

But seriously, thank you for posting this cuz I was curious how people get Fame and what the Karma was I've seen mentioned.

And now I know!  ~off to find more things to post to so I can get my WOO/BOO going!~

My question is:  If someone gives you a woo/boo, how do you know who to thank/hiss at, and what post you got your woo/boo for?

If you look toward the bottom of the home page below recent posts, you will see forum stats.  Under the heading, there is a section called Karma stats.

Sammi - if you really like someones post you click on the WOO under their name to the left of where they posted and a screen will pop up in which you give the reason why you liked that person's post. Same goes if you really felt that the post was in bad taste.  Then you would click on the BOO under their name.  Either way, people can see who are giving them WOOs and BOOs and the reasons why.

What is Fame?
You will see a Fame under a member's name on each post, by clicking on Woo you show your approval of a post, or if you wish, Boo which will show the opposite. Fame is the total Woos minus any Boos that member has received for their posts.

You can see who has given fame at the bottom of the forum by clicking on Karma Stats.

I might as well ask here, since this is dedicated to the system in play: is there any way to filter through the Karma database to find karma sent by/to someone?

You can't fine tune the sort that specifically. Sorry.

You can sort to WHO gave or WHO received though.   Just click the header title for which you would like.

It's a little wonky though with where it starts.  Like below.  Merovingian was the top one listed when I clicked the WHO sort button.     If you get it to the member name that you want, you can then click the next page (or number in the series at the bottom) but it won't be sorted still.  Click the WHO sort button again and it will straighten out.  Keep repeating until a new name comes up.

(I know this'll bloat my post count a little, but I think putting it in a separate post may be better for it.)

I think I may have worked out how the Who and Whom columns work. If you choose either of those columns, the members' names are ordered by join date, in the same manner as the When column (i.e. latest to earliest for descending, vice versa for ascending). So, if you're looking for a specific member, you need to know their join date. This (sadly) means keeping the Members list in a separate window, to check on join dates for members that appear.

It's a messy way of doing it, but it works.
