Grammy Winner Donna Summer Dead at 63
by Breitbart News

TMZ:

Donna Summer -- the Queen of Disco -- died this morning after a battle with cancer ... TMZ has learned.

We're told Summer was in Florida at the time of her death. She was 63 years old.

Sources close to Summer tell us ... the singer was trying to keep the extent of her illness under wraps. We spoke to someone who was with Summer a couple of weeks ago ... who says she didn't seem too bad.

In fact, we're told she was focused on trying to finish up an album she had been working on.

Summer was a 5-time Grammy winner who shot to superstardom in the '70s with iconic hits like "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls."

It's such a shocker... I had not heard anything about her in a long time so i assumed all was well. I love her music, it was all good. She will be missed...

It's a shame to see her go, she was one of the biggest icons in the 1970s and another great hit artist off of Casablanca Records. I see she was trying to release a new album and died before it was done, that's too bad. Well if there is enough material done for it maybe it'll be released as a final tribute. R.I.P.

Notably to KISS fans, Summer sang background vocals on "Burning Up With Fever," the second track from Gene Simmons' all-star-infested 1978 solo album. "She blew the roof right off," said Simmons about Donna's singing in his first autobiography "KISS & Make-up".
