Saddened to hear of the death of Peter Green; co-founder of Fleetwood Mac and regarded as one of the greatest British Blues musicians of his generation.  Unfortunately his drug fuelled schizophrenia and wish to give band income to charity caused his split with the rest of the band.  What a great outfit they would have become if he had stayed!

Unfortunately,  when he moved to California he became acquainted with the person who provided LSD and mescaline to many of the Rock stars. From this, he became paranoid and had other mental issues.   B.B. King said when Peter Green played the Blues, it would send shivers up his spine, he was that good. Green, Fleetwood and McVie left the John Mayall Blues band to form Fleetwood Mac in 1967.

Huh? I've never heard of Peter's moving to California, or his meeting Owsley.

What I have read is the well-documented Munich incident, in which he was whisked away to the Highfisch-Kommune and emerged a few days later a very disturbed man.

Such a pity. Such a waste.
