I experienced a Christmas miracle in the military. Christmas eve three of us were scheduled for guard duty, but we would go off duty at 7 PM. At 7 we basically ran to the barracks and put up the accoutrements (gun belts, etc.) that we couldn't wear in town, then we shot off to a local store a few minutes away.

The manager of the store was standing next to the doors hoping to lock up. We quickly split up and gathered the items that we intended to pick up for our snacking that night. The manager locked the doors as we exited.

Back at the barracks we began laying out, prepping the items for our "feast" (crackers, cheese, sausage, cookies, hot chocolate, etc.). As we did I told the story of "How The Chimes Rang" ( https://christmasstories.org/why-the-chimes-rang/ ), but at the same time, drawn by the smell of food guys gathered to hear the story and perhaps to get content from our feast.

As I finished the story, the sound of chimes began ringing through a window (a local church had chimes, but they had been broken the past few years and unbeknownst to us must have had them fixed in time for Christmas). Hearing the chimes one guy said "Damn, I got goosebumps, how'd you do that?"

"It's Christmas" I replied, "a time for miracles."
