I'm totally smitten with Taylor Swift and have watched her fans on her ERAS tour. She generates so much loyalty. I have to believe she will influence many of her fans to register to vote. It's a bloc that normally stays home during the election.

As a Senior Swifty I was happy to see her come out in support of of Harris/Waltz.

So funny one of her cats was included in her announcement as she mentioned being a childless cat  lady. BTW, one of her cats is worth 93 million dollars. :emot_laughing:

It's definitely a plus.  One wonders what percentage of Swift fans were in the Trump camp.  But we'll assume this helps pull some of the undecided.
And since the population of the USA is only about 335 million, that following count must include numbers outside the US who won't be voting in this coming election (no matter what the Republicans claim).  So it's not necessarily a big needle move.

It's hard to blame teenagers for being brainwashed, but brains are fully formed at age 24 or 25. If you are 30 years old and letting an elitest pop star do all your thinking, you really should re-examine your priorities. I'm in my 60's, I love BABYMETAL, but I don't take all my clues in life from them.

Trump will lose by a sizable margin. However, he will announce he “won” on election night and claim the presidency.

Then will begin the battle of the lawsuits, violence against election workers, and people taking to the streets with their weapons to shoot at other people. We get the government we deserve.

And the 1% will laugh.

I predict the stock market will crash, unemployment will rise, and recession will begin again. The market hates uncertainty. And Trump is going to give us nothing but uncertainty.

The MAGAts will blame Biden, of course. And that uppity black woman.  Are we allowed to say nigger again?  I didn’t get the memo after Saturday night at the Garden. /s

Good rant!

You're right: Poll results, at this point, are aggressively meaningless. Regardless of whether they're being manipulated, they still indicate nothing. Polls indicate how people say they will vote. They do not indicate how people will, in fact, vote.

Several years ago I read a fascinating article by a professional political analyst who addressed the question of why Trump won in 2016 despite most polls indicating a Clinton victory. He attributed it to what he called "silent Trump supporters." These were voters who said they planned to vote for Clinton, but secretly planned to vote for Trump, out of fear of being labeled a Trump supporter.

Eight years later, the opposite may be happening. There are likely many voters answering election opinion polls who are say they will vote for Trump, but are secretly planning to vote for Harris, or to not vote at all.

Regardless of whether this is right or wrong, at this point, pre-election opinion polls are only useful for people engaging in political debates who want to throw numbers at each other. What counts is what happens next Tuesday.
