Crazy next couple weeks. Got a diabetes doc visit on Thursday. My A1C has gone up in the last 3 months but that’s what she wanted. I’m at 5.9 which is probably higher then I want it but pretty much right on the mean of the range.

Friday is eye surgery on the left for the cataracts. A bunch of different drops for the next two months and two days working up to the surgery. Then the right eye next Friday. Taking the weekends off to just rest.

The plus of this, maybe no glasses anymore. I was fine with all of it and actually excited until Sunday. Sunday hit the nerves.

That's not a bad A1C. As I got closer to 70 , my doctor said he'd rather see mine up around 7.

The cataract surgery is easy. I understand the nerves. I hate even getting drops in my eyes. I had to wait a month between surgeries.

Maybe one of the ladies here will come hold your hand...or something else  ;D

The diabetes doc visit went great. She thinks I could be off insulin within the next 6 months.

The cataract surgery went good. Was there a long time but the surgery was really quick. Doctor said I never moved so it went fast. I can see SO much clearer but things are a bit blurry. See how everything looks tomorrow

Good news Coach. So glad things went well with the cataract surgery.

I remember as they.haf instruments poking around in my eyes I don't think I even breathed...let alone moved. :D

Again glad things are working out well for you

Diabetes is going good. Down to just 5mg twice a day for insulin. Sugars a little high as I adjust but been going down.

Cataracts surgery’s are complete. 20/20 in the right and 20/25 in the left. Currently just readers to read anything but no glasses needed for driving or any other stuff. Been a bit strange for sure.

Now I got diagnosed with an eye issue. Scleritis. No known cures or real treatments. My eye turns all red, swells up and really hurts. Had a major flair up Saturday. Slept the whole day as sleeping is about the only thing that seems to help. Now I’m on steroid eye drops 4 times a day to try and knock it out and get the swelling down.

Just can’t win

Oh no..  I didn't see this post until now.  :(
Eye issues are not fun.  Daddy always had issues, can't remember the name of it, but at least it was treatable.  I hope they are able to find something that makes it feel better

After a really rough weekend I ended up not going to work Monday. Found myself in the doctors. Carpal tunnel. . Right hand, pinched nerve in neck and left arm. Now lots of spinal issues also. Just set up a visit to the back surgeon for next Tuesday.

My sympathy goes out to you. My herniated disc has given me lots of pain so I'm well aware what it can be like.

I hope you can get in quickly. Make sure you you have minions to take care of you after the surgery.

Had a rough night. Woke up with a finger on each hand swollen turning shades of red. My doctors off today and the surgery center I’m going to go to is not working the er today. I was able to schedule an earlier visit and they can see me tomorrow afternoon. At this point I just want another MRI to see how much worse my spine is. My L4 and L5 are shot and that right at the bottom of your spine where it goes into the hips. And my hips are shot and arthritis. Such fun getting old.
I feeling more acceptable to surgery at this point if it can stop all this pain. Last year I wouldn’t even go see the surgeon and now I’m begging them to get me in.

Perhaps a Pain Management group could help you. Spinal injections sometimes are successful and another alternative to surgury.

Stuck at home today. Foots all swollen also. Have an afternoon visit with the surgeon. But this office is more focused on shots and stuff like that. I am hoping they will just give me a steroid shot in my spine to see if it works at all.
Also hope they send me for an MRI. Really want to know if everything’s gotten worse or not.

Trust me Coach, I'm right there with ya. I got a few shots in my spine before they decided to let me try the SCS (spinal cord stimulator)

I had one implanted Monday hopefully it gets turned on this Monday. Sounds like you have a good team working with you.

All the best to you Coach. I know KB will be there behind you.

So at least for now they think they figured out what is/was wrong.  Should say my wife figured it out and told them.
Gout in neck, hands and feet. Docs got me on all sorts of pain killers, muscle relaxers and other pills to get this out of my system. Seems to be working. Neck is loosened up. Hands and feet still swelled up a little but not like before.
Got no energy in me. Been laying on the couch for the last 4 days drinking water and tart cherry juice. Lost another 6 or 7 lbs. Down 65 lbs total now.
