I've had a few introductory sessions through wellness day at work and one actual office visit, and it all seemed like a bunch of parlor tricks to get me to commit to treatment.  As in, if just one of these so-called doctors had shown me anything real I would have signed up for a bunch of appointments right there.

I can't speak to your personal experience, but about five years ago I work up one morning with a stiff neck. After a couple of days, it had gotten so bad that II couldn't rotate by head more than an inch or two.

A friend recommended a local chiropractor, and I went to see her. She worked on me for about 30 minutes, and when she was done, my neck was about 75% back to normal. I returned a couple of days later, she worked her magic again, and it was then 100% back to normal.

They work, but after a treatment you have to give it a week to heal from what the doctor did.  Go for a one week follow up, then wait another week.  Going as often as they want you to, you'll be in a constant healing state.
At least this was my experience, passed down from my daddy who would throw hos back or neck out once a year.
Good luck.

I go to one every other month for my lower back pains. Better than sex when they work my spine, Then I follow up with a full body massage, and I feel like a billion bucks. The woman who does mine is a no frills doctor and that delicious pop and crack of my spine being adjusted is divine.

So, in the late 90's, a friend performed a "trick" on me that a chiropractor had done that had worked on him, it damn near disabled me. Fast forward to 2004 and a back ache would not go away. I went to a doctor and long story short, four of my discs had collapsed. I was then sent to a neuro surgeon and in a case where a doctor being 100% honest he said a surgery would likely cripple me, whereas a course of physical therapy would be in my best interest.
His physical therapist was less than a year out of college and she was very unprofessional. After two months I started shopping for a massage therapist and I found one with the literal "healing touch." After 2 1/2 years, I was back to normal.

I had a couple sessions when I was younger, back in my 20's.  I went a few times under this one place's introductory program.  That's when I found out that I broke my neck about a year and a half earlier.

I'm burying the lede a little, but around April 2001 I had an accident involving a dog, a flight of steps, flying through the air, and landing very hard on the street below.  It was kind of a sucky week.  I had a severe concussion, cervical contusions, and they mentioned one or two other things at the hospital but to be honest I had a hard time remembering that week down the road.  The only reason I remember it now was I spent so much time focusing on things they became baked into the long-term memory.  Fast forward a year or so and I have constant neck pain.  Like, I went from being a heavy headbanger to I couldn't look up for more than 10 seconds at a time.  At the chiropractor they take a couple x-rays, and the first question he asked when he came in the room.  "So, when did you break your neck?"

At least knowing how bad things were helped me going forward with dealing on how to proceed with life.  I stopped going to the chiropractor because I'm a yank and had no insurance and each session cost more than rent.

Always close the program you're running before exiting the holodeck

Glad you're back to normal, Dude.  That's too bad that you had to go through that.  Back issues are not fun for a few days, let alone a few years.

Yep I used all the time when I worked the oil fields on the north slope of Alaska. But the was when I did 10 sessions of ROLFING. Hurt  but it was the best 1000.00$ I've spent (1998)
