As a Brit, I must try to put forward the other side of this saga.

Firstly, it is very easy to make sweeping claims without putting forward any evidence. Secondly, she confirms she has mental health problems , which, to put it kindly, could make her hyper-sensitive. A question about her baby's colour for example is clumsy, but not racist.. Her Royal-appointed mentor is a former (black) equerry to the Queen.

Thirdly, her claims about royal titles for her children. The rules governing this were laid down well over a hundred years ago when steps were taken to limit size of royal family. When Charles ascends the throne everyone 'steps up' and Harry's children will automatically qualify for a royal title should their parents so wish.

Finally royal protection: any member who steps down from royal duties no longer qualifies for protection. This is true for all have done so.

OK...I'm not trying to be mean spirited here, but it is hard for us common folk to relate to the problems of the rich.
I know mental problems don't distinguish between rich or poor. Still the rich have the resources to get the help they need.

This from someone who has following the royal family all my life. The very first time I saw television was the Queen's coronation.
I was in the first grade and a classmate had TV in their house, one of the first in our small town. Our class trooped across the street
and watched the pageantry of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth.

  There's no doubt in my mind that her claims are true, and I don't judge her claims through the lens of whether I agree with her politics. I believe her because I find it hard to believe that the royal family wouldn't say something like that.

  On the other hand, I care about the royal family about as much as I care about Hollywood celebrities, which is to say pretty close to zero.

With that said, in the early 90's Suzanne Somers was on Letterman. She stated that actors get a tax break on money spent on therapy because pretending to be other people screws you up. She paused and added:"Oops. I guess I shouldn't have said that. It's a secret."

And with that said, and please don't get the wrong idea, I admire the royals because they have actually really served in the military. Prince Andrew served as missile bait, flying a helicopter in the Falklands War. Queen Elizabeth drove an ambulance during the blitz in London. Harry did one tour in Iraq and another in Afghanistan. William flew a helicopter for the English coast guard and rescued people in storms. Flying a helicopter in a gale requires nerves of steel.

Very true! UK papers have now had a chance to look into this 'interview' in more detail.

Firstly Prince Charles did support them financially until they were established and can be confirmed with bank statements.

Secondly the point was widely made that this was not an interview but a publicity exercise. A less sycophantic interviewer  would have challenged the numerous inconsistencies in Megan's claims.

I think Megan believes she was treated badly.  It's clear she felt like she did not fit in, and went her own way as is her choice.

However, if I was Megan I would point out that there had already been African blood brought into the family by both Princess Sophie Charlotte and Philippa of Hainault.

Most of the British press was supportive of MM and hoped she would be a breath of fresh air in the rather stuffy royal family.  Only one article at the time, in a paper very supportive of the monarchy, predicted that within a couple of years she would disrupt the royal family and drag Harry back to America (that reminds me, exactly who was it that wore a nazi uniform to a fancy dress party).  The British public now feels let down by her actions and 'poor little rich girl problems'.

On a point of (dis)honesty the montage of newspaper headlines purporting to show the UK press attacks on her were actually headlines from foreign supermarket gossip magazines.  The few that were from the British press were reported headlines about articles that originally appeared in the foreign press.

I get up in the morning and take a shower and prepare to don my mask and spend another day busting my ass to earn money for my family, and when I catch little bites of crap like this (my wife must have the morning news on the TV in the morning) as I drink my morning coffee before I leave for work, all I can think is... this doesn't affect me one way or the other.
