Reminder: KB Alumni Forum Group when server goes down.

Just a reminder that we have a KB alumni forum for sharing information during periods that the server goes down.

KB has gone down on a dozen or so occasions. Sometimes for weeks at a time. For that reason, I created an alumni forum where we can share information about what’s going on with each other. Or just keep in touch with each other.

Just create a user profile, and then bookmark the forum address. It will be there in the event of an emergency. Do it now, because you won’t be able to find the information in the event of server malfunction.

I bookmarked that site the last time KB went down, and it's the first place I checked when I noticed KB was down the other day.

However, when I tried to log in I received an error message: "The last email that was sent to you returned with an error. Please update your account with a valid email address."

I'm not sure that that means, but it's definitely "a valid email address" that I check many times every day.

I've no idea what that means.

I just checked, and I had emails from my friend Crystal, a recipe for key lime pie, a confirmation for tickets I purchased online for a Brooklyn Cyclones game, and spam from Wells Fargo (where I don't have an account).

I sent you two emails from the alumni forum this week, and neither one of them went through.

It may be the email on server being broken if many people have trouble with email

Thanks for that info.  It said the recent outage was because the bill hadn't been paid, so I'm glad it's straightened out.  I had seen a report on another forum making me think the host had blocked the forum because of a content problem.  The discussion.community post said that hosting for KB costs something like $200 a year.  That seems like an awful lot for a fairly low traffic forum like KB in this day and age.  If there are issues covering the expense, there are alternatives out there.
