Make America Great Again?

It's actually a great slogan because most people can look back to a better time.  So what would this be for you?

I guess I'd look back to the days when labor unions were strong and fought for a living wage.  I remember my dad working in construction.  The Carpenter's Union made it possible for him to buy a nice home in the 'burbs and raise six kids.  The Union is mostly gone now, and a carpenter's wages have gone way down.

Of course the person who used this slogan could care less about unions.

Well we walked on the moon once. Then stopped doing that for the next few decades to build big nukes to use on Russia and bomb the middle east. Maybe if we could stop doing the bombing we could get back to something greater like that.

We should be reaching for the stars. Fuck, we should have a colony on the moon by now. But no, we have to spend all our resources bombing places no one can either pronounce or find on a map.

I agree with the first part. As for the second, maybe if we were less likely to use military solutions in the first place we wouldn't have a problem.  Violence breeds violence.
