Why is the Kristen's Archive Talk section white when the rest of the board is black? I mean the brightness kills me everytime I click on it. This is an important subject  ;D.

Good question. I don't know, but I will cast my vote with yours, white letters on black background is a lot easier on the eyes. That's one of the minor complaints I have on asstr, but the site is overall such a treasure, I just enjoy it for what it is.

I think it is to show that the Kristen Archives are separate from KB.  I assume GIa chose her theme.

The board's program "Simple Machines" has several "themes" which were chosen by the original mods and administrator.  The Archives and Gia's sub-boards have different themes than the "Metallic Abyss" theme (the black one) that is more commonplace on KB.

Ah ha! The plot thickens!  ;D

DUN Dun dun.......

I concur with the opinion on the white background theme. It is a nuisance especially at night and also a battery hog.

On the other hand, the white background theme is full width, which would be nice for the image sub-boards instead of scaling down large images while half of the screen is still displaying trees.

I *like* trees!  ;D

Seriously, changing the theme isn't a minor thing.  Too many things were hand-tooled to work with this wonky theme back when.  It'd take me a month of using a new theme as a test alternate before I'd be comfy switching the main forum over to it.  It's do-able, but will take time.  I won't have gobs of time until mid-August.

I can swap it easily for sub-boards that use another theme, but the other part of the problem is that we're on the 1.5 stub of SMF, and there aren't many themes available for it any longer.  Cutting over to the 2.x code didn't work at all; it corrupted the forum database and I eventually gave up in disgust.  Backing the changes out one-at-a-time is equally painful (so I could get us closer to a vanilla 1.5 implementation).

Remember the Golden Rule: you do me, and I\'ll do you (paraphrased)

Get cracking Rope! You think Donald Trump will accept your excuses when he becomes President and demands to be made a mod? :X

It's been that way for 9 years.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.  Let's buy Piper a pair of sunglasses.  Cheaper solution.

I have several pairs of genuine authentic real imitation RayBay Wayfarers with Honda on the arms that cost me nothing. Cheap enough??

That is all.
