OK. Been in these tanning things once or twice myself. Methinks me not do that again.

It's not just tanning beds, but exposure to sunlight as well.
I work outside all the time, and I try as much as possible to stay covered (as in jeans and short sleeve shirts). I'm always in a hat (Allis Chalmers Baseball Hat). That being said, anybody who makes a living working out doors should be careful of the exposure they receive from the sun ( #30 sun block isn't that difficult to apply, and it could very well save your life).

I'm very pale so I burn easy. As a result, whenever I go somewhere warm for vacation I tend to do a bit of pre tanning so my skin has a slight base to it before I go so I don't scorch in the first 24 hours.
