Dancing to the Rhythm of Life

She was just a young girl
sweet lips, sweet hips
swaying from side to side
she'd paid nothing for the ride
she was dancing to the rhythm of life

I watched her
she had a sense of fun
but she saw no one
she moved at her own stride
she was dancing to the rhythm of life

My memory might have faded
my life force may be jaded
but I was drawn, just a mere pawn
into her dance to the rhythm of life

She was swaying to the music
the music in her mind
she had no ties to bind her
she was free as the wind
dancing to the rhythm of life

Like a fly to the spider
I was drawn in beside her
pulled to her spirit
no more resistance
as we danced to the rhythm of life

I awoke to the buzz
my head all a-fuzz
and my bed still cold
nobody to hold
just a solo to the rhythm of life.

You penned that so well, could almost hear the music in my mind.

As much a song as a poem (which is not unusual), and absolutely wonderful. Perfect fit for the board, and worthy of  several woos! Good man, keep it up!

Don't sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff.

I like the poem.

The beauty of poetry, is that we each read the same words, and without knowing the author or the object of which they write, we can each envision something, quite possibly, totally different. That, and we can interpret it from different depths each time it is read.

I often wonder at the vision of the author as I read their work.

Sure I'm crazy! It's the only thing that keeps me from going insane!
