As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested Tuesday in San Diego, Calif., after police uncovered an alleged plot he was hatching to kill his wife.

As the 32-year-old rocker prepares to face formal charges in court today, his band members are reeling from the news.

On Wednesday, As I Lay Dying's four other members—Jordan Mancino, Phil Sgrosso, Nick Hipa and Josh Gilbert—posted a statement on the band's website that expressed their shock over the "terrible situation" while leaning on their fans for support.

"As we post this, the legal process is taking its course and we have no more information than you do," the band wrote. "There are many unanswered questions, and the situation will become clearer in the coming days and weeks. We'll keep you informed as best we can."

They also added, "Our thoughts right now are with Tim, his family, and with everyone else affected by this terrible situation—and with our fans, whom we love and draw strength from."

Lambesis was taken into custody after investigators pieced together an alleged plot in which the frontman was purportedly planning to hire an undercover detective to murder his wife, Meggan, who had filed for divorce last September.

Police, however, did not disclose any more details due to the ongoing investigation.

A San Diego District Attorney spokesman told E! News Wednesday that Lambesis was being held in custody without bail, and that he will be formally charged in San Diego District Court on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
