They're loads of fun.  A cock ring is a great starter toy for couples.  You can get one that's very unobtrusive and amounts to little more than a visual aid, so it can be a nice small first step.  I don't find the sex to be much different with them but I always avoid the ones that can't be removed "in case of emergency", so I'm a bit limited in experience.
